NIPSCO is committed to providing safe, reliable service through even the most unpredicable Spring and Summer storms.

During a storm, lightning and high winds can damage electrical equipment and cause unexpected outages.

Never approach a downed power line or a fallen tree where a power line may be entangled.

Hazardous situations include the following:

• Wire down or on fire
• Limb causing wire to hang so low that a person could grab the line
• Electric Line/wire hanging/sagging so low that a person or vehcle can touch it
• Branches/Tree on fire
• Poles broken/down/leaning
• Wires/pole down on a vehicle
• Wires arcing
• Wires sparking
• Transformer leaking
• Service entrance/weatherhead/meter box pulled away from the house
